Hoppers (2026) Review

Hoppers

Hoppers (2026)

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Genres: Animation, Family, Sci-Fi, Comedy

Pixar animated films always feel delightful, and their concepts are always fresh from one movie to the next — from toys that come to life (Toy Story), to a group of emotion characters controlling human feelings (Inside Out), to the romantic relationship between fire and water elements (Elemental). This time, Hoppers tells the story of a nature lover who can transfer his consciousness into robotic animals, instantly gaining the ability to talk to real animals, with the goal of rallying them to save their habitat from being destroyed by humans.

The movie is hilarious, with memorable characters — especially King George, who is the coolest character and my absolute favorite. The moral of the story is also great for the audience. I even got a bit emotional during the conflict resolution scene.

Lately, I've been really into movies where the main character isn't portrayed as an entirely good person — the kind of protagonist who is idealistic but sometimes does the wrong thing, ends up causing trouble, and eventually learns from their mistakes. This movie nails that perfectly, and I really love it.

It may not be as much of a masterpiece as Wall-E and Up, but I still highly recommend this movie.
