Tunggu Aku Sukses Nanti

Tunggu Aku Sukses Nanti (2026)

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)

Genres: Comedy, Drama

I was one of those people who was really hyped for this movie, especially after watching the trailer which felt so relatable to Indonesian millennials like me — you know, the whole situation when you meet your extended family during Lebaran, and they start asking questions like "what's your job now?", "are you married yet?", and of course the never-ending comparison with your cousins. I was super lucky to be able to watch this masterpiece early through a limited screening at Mall Panakkukang Makassar.

Without any hesitation, I can say that this movie is INSANELY GOOD! One sign that a movie is truly great is when the audience applauds during the screening, and when I watched it, I counted 3 rounds of applause — including during the credit scene, which of course got the biggest one.

And it's not without reason. This movie feels almost flawless. Ardit Erwandha's acting is absolutely stunning as the main character (Arga) — the emotional roller coaster really hits you as the audience, whether it's the happy, sad, or angry scenes, you can feel all of it. Sarah Sechan as Tante Yuli, who is annoyingly perfect in her role, also delivers a fantastic performance here. And to add the cherry on top, the comedy is hilarious with almost no misses, especially from Reza Chandika and Yono Bakrie.

So when you walk out of the cinema, if you came for entertainment, you leave with laughter. If you came for a good drama, you leave deeply moved. And if you have the same struggles dealing with family during Lebaran, you leave learning how to handle it with maturity.
